By St. John Vianney (Feast Day – August 4)
God, please give to your Church today many more priests after your own heart.
May they be worthy representatives of Christ the Good Shepherd.
May they wholeheartedly devote themselves to prayer and penance;
be examples of humility and poverty; shining models of holiness;
tireless and powerful preachers of the Word of God;
zealous dispensers of your grace in the sacraments.
May their loving devotion to your Son Jesus in the Eucharist and to Mary his Mother
be the twin fountains of fruitfulness for their ministry. Amen.
St. John Vianney, patron of priests, pray for us
There will be a Communion Service in our church at 8:30 am on Wednesdays. The service is about 20 minutes long and includes the day's readings, some reflection, intercessions, the Lord's Prayer, a sign of peace, and Communion. You are welcome to attend.
PARISH ROSARY AND PRAYERS FOR ST. FRANCIS DE SALES PARISH... Every Tuesday at 11 AM, La Salette Sodality members pray the Rosary for the parish and other personal intentions. Place: The Fr. New York Archbishop Timothy Cardinal Dolan signed an official decree effective December 28, 2020 to merge the parishes of St. John’s (Woodstock)
and St. Francis de Sales (Phoenicia). Rev. Thomas P. Kiely, pastor of St. John’s will serve as pastor of the newly formed parish, St. John the Evangelist / St. Francis de Sales.
Further details about the merger and workings of the new parish will be forthcoming. Meanwhile, we pray for
God’s blessings and the intercession of Our Blessed Mother and her chaste spouse, St. Joseph (in this year of St. Joseph) that our new parish family will grow stronger together in facing the challenges and opportunities in the coming year.
For more detailed information on the merger you can follow these links: Merger Relegation

In this confusing time with the onset of the corona virus, we are certainly frightened and fearful of its' effects. It is a time when we must remember our elderly in our prayers. Because of their many medical complications they are at risk. It is a time we need to pray that biologists and research scientists will be successful in developing a vaccine and this crisis will pass.
We cannot forget that our God is watching over us and will continue to answer our prayers as we pray for a successful outcome.
Don't lose hope because God loves us!
