Inspired by the Missionary Fathers of La Salette and the Blessed Mother, a small group of women in our parish formed Our Lady of La Salette Sodality in 1948. For over seventy years, Sodality members have been dedicated to the spiritual well-being of the Church. The Sodality sponsors retreats, programs and devotional practices such as the May Crowning of the Blessed Mother and reciting the Holy Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet among other events held throughout the year. In the past, the Sodality helped support the parish financially by purchasing needed equipment and helping refurbish the Blessed Mother statues in the grotto.
The Sodality celebrates the annual Feast Day of Our Lady of La Salette on September 19. This day marks the anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady of La Salette when our Blessed Mother appeared to two children near the town of La Salette, France in 1846. Women are welcome to attend monthly meetings to learn about the Sodality and how we seek to serve the spiritual needs of our parish. Contact Pam at 845-688-2642.
